BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A Baton Rouge man has been sentenced to 37 years in prison after admitting his guilt in a fatal 2013 shooting.

The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1RjqAeB ) Dorion Terrell Jenkins pleaded guilty Thursday to manslaughter in the death of 25-year-old Brandon Carter.

Jenkins was scheduled to stand this week on a second-degree murder charge in Carter’s slaying.

Police say officers found Carter’s body outside an apartment complex in June 2013. He was shot multiple times during an apparent armed robbery.
