ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A priest who oversaw the restoration of one of the oldest Catholic churches in the U.S. is now taking over a historic church in Old Town Albuquerque.

Rev. Andy Pavlak has been appointed to lead San Felipe de Neri after he helped restore the San Miguel Mission in Socorro, New Mexico.

He served the San Miguel Mission for more than eight years.

San Felipe de Neri has around 3,000 regular parishioners and attracts a number of tourists all year round. It also has a Pre K-eighth grade school.
