PORT JERVIS, N.Y. (AP) - Jury selection has started for a man charged in the slaying of a 77-year-old shoe repair shop owner who was found beaten inside his upstate New York business.

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports (https://bit.ly/1YUMGdB ) 30-year-old Dennis McBee of Port Jervis is facing second-degree murder and first-degree robbery in the killing of Josef Kucher.

Authorities say security footage shows McBee entering Kucher’s store in Port Jervis on Nov. 7, 2014, and leaving a few minutes later. Kucher was found bloodied and dazed by a customer a short time later. He died the next day from his injuries.

Investigators tracked him to Wilks-Barre, Pennsylvania, and arrested him.
