SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) - A man shot by police during a standoff in Sioux City has left a hospital and been charged with several crimes.

Court records say 43-year-old Lee Fischer faces several charges, including assault on a police officer and intimidation with a weapon. The records don’t list the name of an attorney who could be contacted to comment on Fischer’s behalf.

Police responded to a call March 5 about a man firing a gun inside his home while his former wife was there. Officers say Fischer left his home after about four hours and was ordered to drop the gun as he advanced. Police say he didn’t drop it and then was shot by a Sioux City officer. The woman was not injured.
