NEW YORK (AP) - New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is announcing a $15,000 settlement with a restaurant owner who withheld tips from deliverymen.

Schneiderman said Tuesday that Wallace Lai admitted to a number of labor law violations including keeping tips intended for delivery workers after customers ordered online.

Lai formerly owned two Manhattan restaurants, both called Hong Kong Station.

Schneiderman says Lai kept the tips charged through the websites such as Seamless.com instead of paying them to the delivery workers as customers intended.

The settlement requires Lai to pay $15,000 for the tips that he kept from online orders and for minimum wage and overtime violations.

The restitution will be distributed to approximately ten workers from Lai’s restaurants.
