MCLEAN, Va. (AP) - Authorities are searching for a man who they say struck two officers with his vehicle and stole an unmarked cruiser.

U.S. Park Police Sgt. Anna Rose tells media outlets that the man also wrecked the cruiser before running off.

The incident began after police stopped the man early Wednesday in McLean. Police say the officers asked the man to exit the vehicle after smelling marijuana, but the driver refused. Rose says the man took off, striking the officers with his car.

Police say the man then crashed his car and exited the vehicle. After a foot chase, the man stole the officers’ police cruiser before eventually crashing it, too. He took off again on foot. Rose says police are still searching for him.
