IMMOKALEE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the death of a 6-week-old baby following a gas leak at a southwest Florida home.

The Naples Daily News (https://goo.gl/RmJfgH) reports that the little girl died Tuesday.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office reports that the girl’s parents initially took her to an aunt’s home in Immokalee, because the aunt was a nurse. The girl wasn’t breathing, and the aunt began CPR as the family called 911. The girl was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Authorities say firefighters had responded to the parents’ home Tuesday morning for a possible gas leak, but an autopsy will be needed to determine if the death is connected.
