FAIRHOPE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities are looking for an inmate who escaped from his assigned job location in southeast Alabama.

The Alabama Department of Corrections said in an email that 42-year-old Anthony Lamar Brown left his job location around 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Fairhope, Alabama. He was sentenced to 50 years on a first degree robbery charge in 1993.

Brown was incarcerated at the Loxley Work Release Center.

Brown stands 5-foot-9 and weighs 144 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.

Sgt. Jeffery Smith believes Brown could still be in Mobile County dressed in state issued white clothing.
