TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - Police say a body found hanging from a tree in the woods in Little River County is that of a man who prosecutors say was sexually assaulted when he was an inmate at the county jail.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1XySesN ) reports three boys found the body Saturday near the Jack’s Isle community. Chief Deputy Alex Mathis said the cause of death appeared to be suicide and that the body had been hanging for about two weeks.

Former Little River County jail administrator Mary Gibson was charged last year with fourth-degree sexual assault and furnishing prohibited articles. An arrest affidavit says Gibson would let the inmate out of his cell and walk with him to a storage building, where they would smoke cigarettes and kiss. Gibson is also accused of fondling the inmate.

Gibson has denied the allegations.
