PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police are trying to identify a man who abused and killed two cats after breaking into a pet boarding and grooming business.

Police say the suspect cut a hole in the outside cat enclosure of the business located on the 9200 block of North 13th Avenue early the morning of March 4 and removed two cats.

Police say the man threw the cats’ bodies into a trash container after killing them by repeatedly stepping on them.

Police are offering up to a $1,000 reward for information that will lead officers to the person’s identity and arrest.
