FORT ASHBY, W.Va. (AP) - A Fort Ashby man has been charged with setting a fire that destroyed a church in Mineral County.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office says 27-year-old Caleb Lusk is charged with first-degree arson.

The Cumberland (Maryland) Times-News (https://bit.ly/22ot0nT) reports the fire occurred early Wednesday at the Berean Independent Baptist Church in Fort Ashby.

Church pastor Richard Riley says the roof collapsed in the fire and the church was a total loss.

Lusk was being held on $75,000 bond Thursday at the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail in Augusta. Jail records didn’t indicate whether Lusk has an attorney.
