LAS VEGAS (AP) - Brothel owner Dennis Hof has filed to run as a Libertarian in a rural Nevada Assembly district.

The Nevada Secretary of State’s Office says the star of the HBO series “Cathouse” filed paperwork Friday in Carson City to run for Assembly District 36. The district includes Pahrump, the southern Nevada town where his Love Ranch brothel is located.

Hof was in the spotlight last year after former professional basketball player Lamar Odom was found unconscious at the brothel. Hof publicly toyed with the idea of running for U.S. Senate and state Senate before filing for Assembly.

Hof also grabbed headlines when sex workers at one of his brothels launched a “Hookers for Hillary” campaign supporting the former Secretary of State.

The Assembly district is held by two-term Republican James Oscarson.
