CHEBOYGAN, Mich. (AP) - A bridge over the Little Black River in Michigan’s northern Lower Peninsula is being replaced.

The Michigan Department of Transportation says work is scheduled to start March 28 on the bridge replacement on U.S. highway 23 in the Cheboygan area.

The work will require shoulder and lane closures, with one lane of alternating traffic on the bridge controlled by a temporary traffic signal.

MDOT says access to nearby homes and businesses will be accommodated. Work on the project is scheduled to wrap up in August.
