BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - Sen. Thad Cochran says he’s received assurances that the Air Force is committed to providing full manpower for a re-activated squadron at Keesler Air force Base in Biloxi.

Cochran said in a news release that Lt. Gen. James Jackson testified at a Thursday subcommittee hearing that the 815th Airlift Squadron will be brought up to full strength.

Cochran said the Air Force had planned in 2013 to deactivate the squadron. He credited Mississippi’s congressional delegation with leading an effort to get the air force to rescind that decision - which it did last year.
