SEATTLE (AP) - A driver who was injured when a KOMO-TV news helicopter crashed two years ago has filed a lawsuit.

Guillermo Sanchez was stopped at a red light while driving to work when the helicopter came crashing down on top of his truck.

He hurt his shoulder and ankle while escaping the flames, but says he also suffered emotional pain.

Pilot Gary Pfitzner and photographer Bill Strothman were both killed in the March 18, 2014 crash.

KING-TV has learned (https://is.gd/zLBh6P ) Sanchez has filed a lawsuit over his mental distress during and after the crash.

According to court documents, Sanchez also deals with anxiety, and “severe and permanent Post Traumatic Stress Disorder” as a result of what he witnessed.

Sanchez is suing the maker of the helicopter, the company that owns KOMO, the operator of the helicopter, and the pilot’s estate.
