LANCASTER, S.C. (AP) - A Lancaster County man has been sentenced to serve almost 60 years in prison for stabbing his wife to death in 2013.

The Herald of Rock Hill (https://bit.ly/1Z8OY90 ) reports that a jury on Thursday found 56-year-old John Ghent Jr. guilty of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The charges stemmed from the October, 2013 stabbing death of 54-year-old Elaine Ghent who was found dead in the couple’s home.

Ghent was injured when he was arrested but authorities say those injuries were because of a flight with family members who found the victim.
