JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A Jacksonville man faces a life sentence for fatally stabbing another man during a fight.

The Florida Times-Union (https://goo.gl/6bcrE1) reports that 35-year-old Maurice Lenard Johnson was convicted Thursday of second-degree murder. He is scheduled to be sentenced at the end of April.

Authorities say 22-year-old Jessie Bracelett Jr. was bleeding from the face and neck when officers responded to the Avesta Kings Trail Apartments in December 2012. Witnesses say Johnson and Bracelett had been fighting.

Johnson claimed he was acting in self-defense when he stabbed Bracelett.
