SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - A Shreveport man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for failing to update his sex offender registration.

U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley’s office said Thursday the federal sentence was handed down in the case of 27-year-old Kentrell Debose. He had been convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in 2009.

Prosecutors say he moved to Texas in November of 2014. But authorities later found that his Waskom address was vacant. And investigation revealed that he had moved to Shreveport and had not registered as a sex offender in the state of Louisiana.
