VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) - A Minnesota-based food company is buying the rights to a popular North Dakota brand of frozen pizza.

Officials with Bernatello’s Foods say the deal to take over Pizza Corner of Valley City takes effect May 20. It will be moving production of pizzas from Valley City to other Bernatello’s facilities.

Bernatello’s says there will be an opportunity for Pizza Corner employees to remain with the company.

Bernatello’s is based in Maple Lake, Minnesota, and has additional production operations in Wisconsin. The company says it will increase the fleet of trucks to expand the sales and delivery of Pizza Corner pizzas, concentrating on routes throughout the Dakotas.

Pizza Corner owner Dave Zubrod says the timing was right to sell to a company that can take the brand to a national level.
