MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho (AP) - A Nampa man died when his motorhome caught fire after running out of gas on Interstate 84 near Mountain Home.

Elmore County Chief Deputy Mike Barclay says the man had tried to get the vehicle restarted Friday morning by pouring gasoline into the carburetor. However, after he climbed back into the cab the gasoline ignited, trapping the man inside.

Barclay says a friend who had been following the victim in another vehicle was unable to get him out of the motorhome.

The victim died at the scene. His name hasn’t been released.
