BERLIN, N.H. (AP) - State police say a driver has been charged with negligent homicide in a pickup truck crash that killed his passenger in northern New Hampshire along Route 16.

Police said the truck was found off the road and had struck several trees at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday in an area known as “13 Mile Woods” in Errol.

The truck’s passenger, 48-year-old Stephen Bagley of Roslindale, Massachusetts, died at the scene. The driver, 49-year-old Michael Sheehan of Foxborough, Massachusetts, was injured and taken to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, where he was charged.

Police said Sheehan was released on bail before he was taken to a Boston-area hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. It wasn’t known if he had a lawyer; two numbers listed for a Michael Sheehan in Foxborough weren’t working.
