RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A company that makes bearings, transmissions and other items is closing a plant in Campbell County.

The News & Advance reports (https://goo.gl/yA7v7l ) Altavista Town Manager Wavery Coggsdale III said the Timken Company is closing its plant.

Coggsdale said the plant closure would affect 124 employees.

Timken has more than 14,000 employees in 29 countries and recorded more than $2.9 billion in sales in 2015, according to its website.
