COPIAGUE, N.Y. (AP) - Police say an 18-year-old has been arrested on a manslaughter charge and is accused of fatally shooting his friend while the two were handling a gun inside a Long Island home.

Suffolk County police say 18-year-old Wilson Gil-Torres was shot in the chest and died shortly after the Friday afternoon incident.

They say his friend, Nefi Reyes, had pointed a gun at him when the weapon discharged inside an apartment in Copiague (COH’-payg).

Gil-Torres died at a local hospital.

Homicide detectives were still interviewing other people who they believe were also at the shooting scene Friday night.

Police say Reyes is expected to be arraigned Saturday. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had an attorney who could comment on the allegations.
