DENVER, Pa. (AP) - Seven target shooters have been charged nearly a month after a woman was hit in the neck by stray bullet inside her central Pennsylvania home.

LNP reports (https://bit.ly/22rNqc3 ) the four men and three women were shooting at a tree stump from a second-floor deck on Feb. 28.

A stray round traveled about 1,600 feet through a field and entered an East Cocalico Township home’s window. It struck a 22-year-old woman who was sitting at a kitchen table.

She was hit in the neck and seriously injured. She was released from the hospital last week.

Officials say the seven shooters used seven handguns and three rifles to fire at the stump for several hours. They say there was no backstop in place.

East Cocalico Township police filed reckless endangerment charges against the seven on Thursday.
