CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say an arrest has been made in the shooting death of a man in downtown Charleston.

Local media outlets report 21-year-old Charles Edward Mungin III was arrested Thursday and charged with murder in the death of 23-year-old Patrick Moffly.

Charleston police say Moffly was found shot in the chest March 4 at his home. He died a short time later at a hospital.

Police say during the investigation, they learned that Mungin went to Moffly’s home to buy drugs, but an altercation took place and Moffly was shot.

Mungin is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center. It isn’t immediately clear if he has an attorney.

Police say detectives are still working to determine whether other suspects may have been involved in the shooting.
