DANBURY, Conn. (AP) - Police say a Danbury man is dead after his car crashed into a concrete barrier as he exited Interstate 84.

The News-Times reports (https://bit.ly/22qNw3J ) that police say 89-year-old Thomas Finik was driving at a high speed shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday before striking the barrier in the right shoulder of the off-ramp at Exit 5.

He was taken to the hospital but it’s unclear if he died there or at the scene.

Police say Finik’s car rear-ended a Honda Pilot, forcing it into an intersection where it hit a third car. The driver and passenger of the Honda Pilot were treated for minor injuries. The driver of the third car wasn’t injured.

The off-ramp was closed for more than four hours while authorities investigated.
