FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Police say an armed man at a West Fargo hotel who fired shots at officers has surrendered after an hourslong standoff.

No injuries were reported.

West Fargo Police Chief Mike Reitan says in a news release that police went to the Rodeway Inn on Friday afternoon someone called to report seeing a man with a handgun who may have been threatening someone in a motel room.

Police arrived at the hotel about 1:30 p.m. Reitan says it’s not yet known exactly how many shots the suspect fired.

The hotel guests were evacuated and placed on buses.

Reitan says a man and two women fled from the room, leaving the suspect alone.

Reitan says the suspect surrendered at 6:15 p.m. and was taken to the Cass County Jail.
