SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a waitress at an upstate New York restaurant has been arrested and is accused of altering nearly 200 credit card receipts to inflate her tips.

Saratoga Springs Police say 27-year-old Kadi Nadeau was arrested Thursday on scheme to defraud, forgery and petit larceny charges.

They allege Nadeau altered about 188 different credit card receipts while she worked at Beer, Wine and Pizza in Saratoga Springs. Police say Nadeau inflated her tip amounts, usually by about $10 or less, between February and September 2015. In total, they allege she pocketed about $1,800.

A woman who answered the phone at the restaurant Friday said its management cooperated with the investigation, but declined further comment.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Nadeau had an attorney who could comment.
