TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson police are investigating a shooting involving a man who reportedly had a machete when he was fatally wounded.

Police say officers found the fatally wounded man near a driveway in a trailer park on the city’s northwest side late Thursday night.

According to police, the shooter remained at the scene and was taken into custody without incident.

Sgt. Kimberly Bay says preliminary information indicates the man who was shot had a machete in hand when he approached a man and woman in a vehicle driving to a residence in the trailer park.

Bay says the people in the vehicle didn’t know the man with a machete and that the shooting occurred during a confrontation between the two men.

No additional information was released.
