ST. CLAIR, Mo. (AP) - A body found dead inside a burning eastern Missouri home has been identified as that of a 69-year-old man.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1pyXxho) says Vernon White died of smoke inhalation during the fire reported late Wednesday near St. Clair in Franklin County.

It took about 90 minutes to bring the fire under control.

Franklin County authorities say the fire remains under investigation, though there’s no evidence of a suspicious cause.
