ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say a young girl found standing alone by a road in Albuquerque early Friday had left a relative’s home without an adult’s knowledge.

Bernalillo County Sheriff’s officials say the girl’s family has been located and interviewed and no charges are expected to be filed at this time.

Sheriff’s Deputy Felicia Romero says the girl is 3-4 years old and named Unique.

The girl was spotted in the northern part of the Albuquerque area just after midnight by firefighters on their way to another call.

Authorities say the girl was put to bed by a relative and wandered out of the house in the middle of the night.

The relative believed Unique had been picked up by her mother. When the relative realized that didn’t happen, authorities were notified.
