IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) - A 60-year-old man was fatally shot at an Idaho Falls hospital after an altercation with a Jefferson County sheriff’s deputy, though officials have not said who shot him.

The Idaho State Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1WymX9k ) that David Alma Giles of St. Anthony was pronounced dead on Friday at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center after being shot in the hospital’s parking lot.

Police say the shooting resulted from an altercation between Giles and a deputy but it is unclear who shot Giles.

The Idaho Falls Police Department issued a statement saying the deputy brought Giles to the hospital and then an altercation occurred that resulted in Giles’ death.

The incident is being investigated by both the state police and Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office.
