CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - A man convicted of sharing child porn images and videos online is now headed to prison.

State authorities say Gerald Laphan received an eight-year sentence on Friday. He also must register as a sex offender.

The 28-year-old Mount Ephraim man was found guilty last month of distributing, offering and possessing child porn.

Laphan was arrested in March 2012, culminating an investigation that began with a referral from the Gloucester County prosecutor’s office.

A county detective who was investigating peer-to-peer file sharing network identified a computer address that was offering multiple files of child porn. The detective eventually downloaded three videos.

The computer address was traced to Laphan’s residence. When authorities executed a search warrant there, they seized two laptop computers which had 265 files of child porn overall.
