ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) - A Washington City man is accused of stealing nearly two dozen rifles and pistols from a home.

The Spectrum in St. George reports (https://bit.ly/1pBa5EV) that 23-year-old Jeremy A. Cogdell was booked this week on 21 felony counts of theft of a firearm and one count of burglary.

He is being held on bail at Purgatory Correctional Facility.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says Cogdell allegedly tried to sell one of the stolen rifles.

According to a probable cause statement, the weapons were found in his bedroom closet during a search by authorities.

They linked Cogdell through fingerprints taken from the home where the burglary took place.

It was not known Saturday if Cogdell had an attorney.
