ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A former home health aide in upstate New York is heading to prison for stealing more than $250,000 from his clients’ bank accounts.

Eugene Dingman was sentenced Tuesday in Albany County Court to up to seven years behind bars.

The 62-year-old Gloversville man pleaded guilty in January to felony attempted grand larceny. Authorities say he wrote checks to himself from the accounts of two elderly victims he worked for in the Albany suburb of Colonie (kah-luh-NEE’).

Dingman has also been ordered to pay about $265,000 in restitution.
