JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The former director of nursing at a nursing center in Adams County has been arrested for allegedly embezzling a controlled substance.

Attorney General Jim Hood, in a news release Wednesday, said 41-year-old Kimberly Lindsey, of Natchez, surrendered to Adams County sheriff’s deputies following a recent indictment by the Adams County grand jury.

An investigation found that Lindsey allegedly embezzled Hydrocodone, a Schedule II narcotic, through her former employment as director of nursing at the Adams County Nursing Center.

Bond was set at $10,000. Her arraignment is scheduled for Thursday. It was unknown if Lindsey has an attorney who could comment on her behalf.

If convicted of one count of embezzlement of a controlled substance, Lindsey would face up to five years in prison and a $1,000 fine.
