SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Mitt Romney is expected to speak out about the Republican presidential race during an event in Salt Lake City.

The 2012 GOP presidential nominee announced plans to deliver a speech about the 2016 race on Thursday at the University of Utah’s Hinckley Institute of Politics.

Romney has been critical of 2016 front-runner Donald Trump on Twitter in recent weeks and has yet to endorse any of the candidates.

University officials say the speech is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. MT, and is part of a series of political forums hosted by the institute.

Director Jason Perry says the two-time presidential candidate will speak to a student audience about what is a particularly interesting election season.
