NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Bryce Jones had 14 points, eight rebounds and nine assists on Wednesday night and sixth-seeded Murray State beat No. 7 seed Eastern Illinois 78-62 in the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference tournament.

Wayne Langston scored 22 on 10-of-14 shooting for the Racers (17-13), who advanced to face No. 3 seed Morehead State (18-11) in the quarterfinals on Thursday night. Justin Seymour added 16 points and Damarcus Croaker scored 10.

Murray State opened with an 8-0 run and never trailed, leading by 16 at the half and keeping the margin between 15 and 20 throughout the second half. The Racers shot over 60 percent in both halves and made 13 of their last 18 attempts from the field.

Demetrius McReynolds had 14 points and Cornell Johnston scored 12 for the Panthers (13-17). A.J. Riley added 11 and Patrick Muldoon 10.
