PHOENIX (AP) - State troopers seized 311 pounds of marijuana in an SUV that was stopped in the Phoenix area after being the subject of a pursuit that began in Pinal County.

Border Patrol agents attempted to stop the vehicle on Interstate 8 in Pinal County Tuesday night but the SUV did not stop, made its way onto Interstate 10 and eventually reached the Phoenix area.

By then, state troopers had taken over the pursuit after Pinal County sheriff’s deputies disengaged.

Trooper Tim Case said two men and a juvenile were taken into custody.
