HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - The Garland County Election Commission says it’s closing four polling sites that had the lightest election day traffic this past month.

The Sentinel-Record reports (bit.ly/21BPMTs) those sites also won’t be used during the November election.

The election commission says it removed the sites based on a comparison of the number of election day ballots cast at each of the 24 polling locations during the March primaries with the average number of votes at each site in the last two general elections.

The commission says the figures showed the numbers at the four locations were all below 60 percent of their averages for the 2012 and 2014 general elections.
