NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - A 23-year-old man is accused of strangling his roommate to death inside their North Las Vegas home.

KSNV-TV in Las Vegas reported (https://bit.ly/21C12Py) Sunday that the Clark County coroner’s determined that 55-year-old Peter H. Stebbins died of asphyxia due to suffocation and manual strangulation.

His death has been ruled a homicide.

Police say Sean Szymborksi was arrested Friday and has been booked on first-degree murder, domestic battery with substantial bodily harm of a victim over 60 and kidnapping.

Officers responded to a domestic disturbance at the home around 11:40 a.m. Friday.

Stebbins was pronounced dead.

A 71-year-old man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Szymborski was located shortly after.

Police did not give a motive for the alleged attack.

They say all three lived there.

The suspect’s father, Lee Szymborki, says his son suffers from mental illness including bipolar disorder. He also says his son was recently released from a mental hospital without medication.
