LAFAYETTE, Colo. (AP) - A Colorado recreation center has reopened after a suspected chemical leak sent 22 people to the hospital over the weekend.

The Daily Camera reports (https://bit.ly/22yQVxA ) that the fitness areas at Lafayette’s Bob L. Burger Recreation Center were open Monday morning, but the pool will remain closed for more tests.

City officials say air monitoring tests conducted immediately after patrons reported coughing and nausea in the pool area Saturday didn’t reveal any abnormal gas or chemical levels. Lafayette spokeswoman Debbie Wilmot says a second round of tests also found nothing.

Wilmot says Boulder County Public Health will test the pool water Monday. The pool will be closed until the results are analyzed.

Fire Chief Dave Friedel said Saturday that the sickened people were all conscious and alert.
