WASHINGTON (AP) - The Library of Congress is highlighting the contributions of female military veterans.

A panel discussion Monday in Washington features three women who served. The moderator is U.S. Military Academy professor Elizabeth Samet.

The event celebrates Women’s History Month and the library’s Veterans History Project. The oral-history project was created in 2000 to collect, preserve and make publicly accessible the remembrances of America’s war veterans.

The library says it has collected more than 100,000 first-person narratives from World War II through the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
