LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities have identified a 31-year-old man who was stabbed to death during the weekend near downtown Las Vegas in a fight that police say involved a dispute about a woman.

The Clark County coroner says Antonio Leon-Mendoza died of multiple stab wounds in the early Saturday attack in the area of 16th Street and Stewart Avenue.

His alleged assailant, 34-year-old Julio Aguero-Alvarez, was arrested and remained jailed Monday pending a Wednesday court appearance on murder and attempted murder charges.

Police say that as officers arrived, they stopped Aguero-Alvarez from chasing a woman, and she led them to Leon-Mendoza.
