SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J. (AP) - South Plainfield High School students are returning to classes under an adjusted schedule after an electrical fire closed the school for two days.

Students on Monday will attend half-day classes at the Middle and Grant schools while officials conduct tests on systems after replacing a generator.

A fire in the electrical system on Wednesday caused significant damage and force officials to cancel classes on Thursday and Friday. The cause of the issue has not been determined.

A local developer donated a generator that was connected over the weekend.
