CHESTERFIELD, Va. (AP) - Officials at the Richmond Metro Zoo say a 31-year-old orangutan who was a visitor favorite because she could whistle on command has died.

The zoo said on its Facebook page that Jojo died in her sleep Friday of kidney failure. Jojo had diabetes and had been moved from her public enclosure. She received daily insulin shots.

JoJo arrived at the zoo in 1997.
