RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The publisher of the news site has settled a lawsuit she filed against the Republican Party of Virginia over an alleged copyright infringement.

Roanoke Free Press publisher Valerie Garner reached a settlement last week with the GOP for $9,000 over the party’s use of a picture she took of a Democratic politician that was used on political mailers.

The Roanoke Times reports (https://goo.gl/Lt9TSe ) that Garner has also settled a similar case with a political blogger for $6,000, according to her attorney.

Both lawsuits involved the alleged unauthorized use of a picture Garner posted on her website of Democratic Del. Ram Rasoul.
