CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. (AP) - Authorities say they’ve arrested a 37-year-old man related to a fire in Wenatchee last year that destroyed nearly 30 homes.

The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release they arrested Jeremy Kendall Wednesday on a first-degree arson charge.

KING-TV reports (https://goo.gl/eNU8Ky ) probable cause documents show Kendall said he started the June 2015 fire.

The sheriff’s office says Kendall told them the Department of Health was somehow transmitting voices to his head and controlling his body.

Deputies say Kendall also told them voices in his head and other factors were too much to deal with.

Court documents say Kendall owns a truck similar to one seen leaving the scene of the fire when it started.

Officials say the blaze scorched about 4 ½ square miles, ruined homes and damaged four business complexes.
