HONOLULU (AP) - Hawaii’s unemployment rate is an eight-year-low.

The Hawaii state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations said Thursday the jobless rate fell to a seasonally adjusted 3.1 percent in February. That’s down from 3.2 percent in January.

The department says the construction and retail industries added jobs during the month.

The last time the unemployment rate was 3.1 percent was November 2007.

Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.9 percent.
