MEADVILLE, Pa. (AP) - Firefighters in a northwestern Pennsylvania county are battling five separate brush fires and officials are telling residents to quit burning.

Allen Clark of the Crawford County Emergency Management Agency said Thursday that one of the brush fires spread to a large building and another one ignited close to an oil well.

He says it’s a “very bad day” to burn outside, with dry leaves and high winds.
